We had an informative interview with Mr. Fritz Ekwoge Ekwoge, a serial entrepreneur who co-founded Kerawa and founded Iyam.mobi. This is the second interview we had with Mr. Ekwoge Ekwoge, the first occurred in 2007.

In this interview we discussed Cameroonian tech and the recent Barcamp Cameroon 2010.

TechMasai: What is Barcamp Cameroon 2010?

Mr. Ekwoge Ekwoge: Barcamp Cameroon 2010 is the second edition of the Cameroonian version of Barcamps which take place world wide.

I consider it the most interesting tech gathering in Cameroon, which particularly stems from its ‘non-conference’ nature. The 250+ participants we invite every 6 months are the principal actors, and they always have lots to share with each other. read more…

Ahmed Mukoshy is a young 20 year old Nigerian serial entrepreneur who founded of Yarnable, an elegant micro-blogging platform and YRN.ME a URL shortener. Mr. Mukoshy has proven to be a creative and innovative force who eye on quality has helped to raise the bar on the implementation and design of local start-ups to a new  frontier.

TechMasai: What is Whive, and how did the idea to form the platform develop?

Mr. Karanja: Whive.com is a social media platform for Africa. What Whive aims to do is to bring the benefits of the internet closer to the African people. This involves identifying what Africans need and utilizing different social media tools to achieve this.

Whive stands for Web Hive and the concept originates from the idea that many African Communities used to use honey gathering/farming as an activity to bring the community together, as such Whive aims to bring African Communities together on the Web. read more…

Ms Makoni is an renowned activist who works to enpower the rights of girls and women in her native country of Zimbabwe, and all around the world. She was a CNN hero in 2009, received the Zimbabwe National Contribution Award and was the Second Runner Up Director of the Year Award in Zimbabwe.
